Become a Home Room Parent!
Are you looking for a rewarding way to be involved at Sylvan Park? The PTO needs a Home Room Parent (HRP) for each classroom. HRPs are a tradition at Sylvan Park. A parent(s) serves as a liaison between teachers, parents, and the PTO board. Please consider volunteering for this most rewarding role for your child’s classroom this year! Email Natalie Goldsby at ntgoldsby@gmail.com if interested.
Parent Work Day – August 7
Let’s support our beloved Sylvan Park teachers by completing some tasks to get their classrooms ready for the beginning of the year! Come to school Saturday, August 7 at 9:00 (or whenever you can after 9:00) ready to roll up your sleeves and get things looking beautiful.
PNA Updates
PNA will operate as it did last year. PNA will be operating from 6:30am-7:30am and 3:15pm- 6:00pm.
We are currently at our capacity, so from this point you will be placed on a waiting list. Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please speak to Ms. Yawanda McCord in the Sylvan Park office.
Kindergarten Coffee
Are you a Kindergarten parent? Are you nervous about this big transition? Have a few (or a hundred) questions? You’re in luck! All Kindergarten families are invited to an informational meeting at the school on Friday, August 6 from 8-9 a.m. There will be a HUGE amount of information given at this meeting and you will have a chance to have all your questions answered. We hope you can join us!
Ice Cream Socials – Meet Your Teacher! (Note the change in time!)
Come meet your teacher and have a sweet treat! In order to allow for social distancing as well as give each of our families a chance to come inside the building for a quick peek at their child’s classroom, we have made some changes to our ice cream socials – please take note! 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades will meet on Thursday, August 5th from 3-5 p.m. Kindergarten and 1st grade will meet on Monday, August 9th from 3-5 p.m. If possible, to help with flow, please arrive between 3:00 and 4:00 if your last name begins with A-M; arrive between 4:00 and 5:00 if your last name begins with N-Z. Parents and kids will have the opportunity to quickly see their classroom and meet their teacher. Please be prepared to keep the flow moving through the building so that everyone can have a turn while keeping distance. We can’t wait to see you there!
Grade Level Supply Lists
Click here to see the supply lists for ALL grades. Keep in mind that if you pre-ordered supplies in the spring you do not need to send supplies with your student on the first day of school. Pre-ordered supplies will be sent directly to the school and will be waiting for your student on the first day.
