Approval of Air Purifiers for Cafeteria
Sylvan Park’s community approved the purchase of 4 air purifiers by the PTO for the school cafeteria. Combined with the existing HVAC systems, these purifiers will increase the air changes per hour to over 6, which would provide the highest air changes per hour recommended by the Harvard School of Public Health’s Healthy Schools report. The air purifiers will be installed in time for students’ return to the cafeteria this week.

URGENT: General PTO Body Vote by October 9
The PTO Executive Board has approved a non-budgeted expenditure that needs approval by the general parent body. Please see the Google Form for an explanation of the expenditure and to vote. We are collecting votes until Friday, October 9, at which time a decision will be made based on the majority of votes received.

McCabe Priority Registration for Sylvan Park Opens Sept. 29
McCabe Park Community Center will phase to in-person programming starting October 12, 2020. Sylvan Park students will have a priority registration period from September 29, 2020 to October 3, 2020. Open registration will begin on October 5, 2020. The program numbers are 25 elementary and 25 middle school students. They hope to increase programming numbers in January 2021 depending COVID-19 regulations.
