NEW DATE for the Incoming Kindergarten Popsicle Party:
Sunday, August 2 from 4p-5p on the Sylvan Park playground
UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to rain and muddy conditions, we have to postpone the popsicle party. Check back for an upcoming date and time.
Join us for our 2nd Popsicle Party for Incoming Kindergartners on July 12, from 4p-5p, on the Sylvan Park playground! Come meet other families who will be attending Sylvan Park next year, meet members of your PTO, ask your questions, and hear all about our wonderful school!
NEW DATE for the ABCs of Kindergarten & Info Session for New-to-Sylvan Park Families:
Friday, August 7 from 8am-9am in the Sylvan Park Auditorium
On Friday, August 7 from 8am-9am in the school auditorium, the kindergarten teachers will present “The ABCs of Kindergarten” to incoming kindergarten caregivers. This presentation is full of helpful hints and should answer all of your questions about the school year.
We also invite all families who are new to Sylvan Park (in other grades) to come attend this informational session. While there will be info that is geared towards Kindergarteners, there will be quite a bit of information that new families will also find helpful.
This event is adults-only and is OPTIONAL so if you can’t make it, don’t worry! You will receive all of this information at the beginning of the year.

| August 6 – 5:00pm to 6:00pm | PTO Meeting (All are welcome to come hear about upcoming plans and learn about ways to volunteer with the PTO!) |
| August 7 – 8:00am to 9:00am | The ABCs of Kindergarten & Info Session for New-to-Sylvan Park Families (In-Person assembly in the auditorium to learn all about the upcoming school year and what to expect. This event is for adults only.) |
| August 7 – by 3:00pm | Roster Reveal (You will be notified by phone or email which teacher your child will have for homeroom.) |
| August 8 – 9:00am to 1:00pm | Family Work Day (Volunteer for an hour shift to do some light cleaning and organizing, and get the school ready for the new year! Sign up HERE!) |
| August 10 – 7:55am to 8:55am | Meet The Teachers (Come see your child’s classroom and meet their teacher before the first day of school. Consider this a practice run for the first day! This is also a good time to bring your school supplies so your child doesn’t have to worry with them on their first day.) |
| August 11 – 7:45am to 8:30am | Tears & Cheers (Cheer on students…and maybe shed a few tears…as they begin a new school year. Snacks, photo ops, and tissues will be provided outside the front doors of the school on the first day.) |
| August 11 8:10am to 11:40am – Kindergarten 8:10am to 3:10pm – Grades 1 through 5 | First Day of School (1/2 Day for Kindergarten) |
| August 12 – 8:10am to 11:40am | 1/2 Day of School for Kindergarten (Full day for all other grades) |
| August 27 – 5:30pm to 6:30pm | Back-To-School Open House (Come see your child’s classroom and hear the teacher discuss the upcoming year, curriculum, expectations, etc. There will be 3 sessions so that you can visit multiple classrooms during the Open House. This event is adults-only.) |
