Teacher of the Year – Kelly Bulbulkaya

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Kelly Bulbulkaya! Ms. Bulbulkaya has served the past 3 years as the librarian at Sylvan Park Elementary, and in MNPS for 12 years. She started in education as an elementary classroom teacher in 1990, working in Georgia and Virginia before coming to Nashville.

Kelly feels that being a librarian is the best job in the world! She, like all the amazing librarians across the district, serves the whole school community- students, teachers, and families. She teaches standard-based library lessons using rich literature as one way to help all students learn and grow. The Sylvan Park Library Makerspace works to make learning engaging through hands-on lessons tied to curriculum using sewing machines, Legos, circuits, and even recyclables! Kelly loves how every day is new and different in how she can support and serve the students, staff, and families at Sylvan Park through the library.
